For a game where most participants rarely consider fortune, there are tonnes of folklore in poker. When you mention that someone was lucky in that poker tournament they won, be careful of how you mention it. For example, if you say that you were unlucky, your chances may not change.
Ok, that may appear to be a bit ubsurd, but poker is a casino game armed with superstitions. Did you know that if you’re gambling a game with 2 different decks and you’re asked to choose the deck, you should always select the deck that is the furthest away from you? Or, how about If you get a streak of terrible cards, you need to sit on a hankerchief to destroy your horrible luck? It is certainly considered good luck to blow through a pack of cards when they’re being mixed up.
A few other interesting poker superstitions are:
- You can change the run of cards by walking around your chair 3 times.
- The most beneficial seat at the poker table looks at the entrance.
- The worst spot has its rear to a fireplace.
- When altering chairs, you really should always do so following the clock.
- The most detrimental poker card is the 4 of clubs.
- It’s very unfortunate to sit with your legs crossed at the poker table.
- Fri is a awful day for betting on cards.
- The thirteenth is also a terrible day, regardless of what day of the week it is.
