Literally millions of people are trying to be the next "mega star" in poker, but here is a short rundown on four of the more well known "great players" of poker. Although "nice" is associated with their names when you are at a poker table it is "no more Mr. Nice guy" up until they have removed you out of the game!
Daniel Negreanu
In Two Thousand and Four, his tourney winnings added up to in the region of 4.4 million dollars and he came away with two highly admired awards in the WSOP Player of the Year and Cardplayer Magazine’s Tourney Player of the Year. In February Two Thousand and Six he was named Card Player’s Preferred Poker Player. Daniel even still has the decency to speak with his admirers about how they can advance their own game.
Howard Lederer
Called "The Professor" and brother of fellow poker pro Annie Duke. His success has lead to him making an educational poker video named "Secrets of No Limit Hold’em" and co hosting a tournament poker show for Fox. As of 2005, his total life time winnings surpass $2.7 million.
Scotty Nguyen
Scotty is 1 of the most active players in poker and between Two Thousand and Two Thousand and Four he placed in the money in well over 100 events. He’s noted for saying "yeah baby" throughout poker matches and also credited with the term "that’s poker baby" when referring to a especially bad beat. As of 2006, his life time winnings are almost 6 million dollars.
Chris Ferguson
Chris has earned 5 World Series of Poker titles with 2 of his wins coming in Two Thousand and Three. Chris has the alias "Jesus" because of his trademark long hair and beard, and is able to throw cards quick enough to slice through pickles and bananas. As of Two Thousand and Five his total live poker tourney earnings exceeded 5 million dollars.
